Thank you to those who tried our Kaisen Steak Bowls and our Katsu Curry Bowls, in addition to the age gyoza and chiken yakitori. The new hot line cooks are doing an excellent job learning to fire a bunch of dishes all at once, and I’m pleased with what they’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time. We’re going to continue putting up more menu options as we get the hang of things, and add some sashimi to the menu as well. Thank you in advance for your support tomorrow, Wednesday.

Kaisen Sushi needs to adjust to the needs of the economy and what the broader Houston community wants, or we will have to close our doors June 30th.

We’re working hard to train some new cooks for the hot line, to provide delicious, high-quality, and affordable priced robota, teriyaki, curry, yakitori, and other various dishes.

Our first-pass hot food menu will roll out tomorrow afternoon at 4PM, and we be grateful for your support by trying our food.

Our hot food menu will continue to grow as we make adjustments to the kitchen and train an amazing set of new hot line cooks and increase their output steadily over the next few weeks.

We need all the help we can get every day we’re open, or we will definitely shut down.

Sushi will continue to be provided Thursday-Sunday, but our plan is to be open 7 days a week starting next week.

We hope you’ll try us for dinner tomorrow.

Tuesday May 19th Update:
This is Ora King Salmon we’re experimenting with, but usually we stick to Bakka as Bakka is excellent salmon.

But more importantly, I wanted to update everyone to say we are working hard to be open for service Monday-Wednesday again, in addition to Thursday and Friday. Rising costs, tight labor constraints, are making it necessary to hire more untrained apprentices and teach them from the ground up. I’ve been training newbies for the past couple days, but they are not ready to help me open for Monday-Wednesday yet. But it looks like next week will be the first time we’ll be open for Tuesday and Wednesday service.

The restaurant business, especially in 2026, is tough, but Kaisen Sushi is still tougher.
