Ok Fam, today is the day! Starting today through Saturday, you can cruise over to in West Houston and grab a few of these bad boys. The "lil diablo" is a 2.5 oz fresh beef patty, cheddar, an onion ring, SMOKED 12 year bourbon bacon jam and cowboy candy (candied jalapenos) of my own creation, and chubbies house made BBQ sauce. Not gunna lie, it's the perfect burger, and I cant Thank for giving me the opportunity to put this on the Chubbies menu for the week! Yall please stop in grab some of everything and then tell me what you thought of rhe Lil Diablo!

We are getting closer and closer. Closer to who we are and closer to what we will be. Our return is iminent and our team is getting stronger. This time its just about the food. Period.

You might see this and think its a sad photo. But honestly this was the last day of the worst 6 year stretch of my life. Id spent the better part of that time blaming my failing health on the ups and downs of what we were trying to accomplish. A major reason why I finally stepped away from our bbq concept. Any time id try again, id have a flare up of some kind usually culminating in severe abdominal pain, vomiting and digestive issues. After it finally getting to the point of being able to eat zero solids without staying up all night in agony, I knew this last time was the last time. Truth be told i was scared to go to the doctor. For what I might find wrong. But I was at the end of my rope.

What do you know, It took all of 5 minutes to find out I'd been dealing with gallstones for that long for no reason whatsoever.

2 weeks later (the longest 2 weeks ever) i was taking this photo. The photo of the last day of the worst part of my life. (Health wise).

No more gallbladder, no more issues, no more worries, and best of all, no more pain.

What has slowly replaced the feeling of dread has been the love of cooking once again. Ive miss the passion. And I've missed the love. I've missed the opportunities God gave me to make others happy.

Im ready to start that journey all over. I hope you'll be there with us again this time. I dont know what steps i'll take or what direction i' ll go just yet. I just know im not done. And im ready to figure it out. God has been putting all the pieces back together. I feel whole again.

Folks say they wish they knew they were in the Good Ol days before they left them. Well the good Ol days of BBQ just left all of us and we all know it.. It'll never be the same. I'm going to miss my friend with all my heart. John Brotherton was the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be.

Are you still there, Familia?!

It's been a minute! And some of yall might be wondering what happened... Long story short, it was time. Time for a real change. We had been popping up weekly for about 6 years. We were drained. Mentally, physically, and financially. Had to make some tough decisions, but honestly, it was the right move at the right time. .plantita are happier than we have been in many years. We needed a change. Best decision ever. The stress and wear are all gone. We are cooking with love again. No pop up on the horizon, but don't think for a second we are done for good. In fact, we are just getting started. But this time, we are going to enjoy the ride. Something new is brewing, yall.

We really felt the outpouring of support over Thankgiving. We didn't expect so many folks to want us to take holiday orders. And although we ultimately decided to just enjoy ourselves instead, it did light a small fire. Sooooooo...
