Friday only: the Barbacoa Boudin, made just for us by our friends at The Chopping Block Webster — old-world butchers doing new-world damage. Inside the casing it's smoked beef cheeks, rice, roasted poblanos, onions, and cheddar. We top it with grilled onions, jalapeños, Cotija, red sauce, and cilantro.

If you think that sounds delicious, you're right.

Every Tuesday starting at 6pm, the Moontower Platter is 20% off and pitchers of Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower are $12. Dine-in only.

The platter, for the uninitiated: your pick of wild game dogs (2 for the small, 4 for the large), sliced and served with house chipotle pimento, pickled onions and jalapeños, Creole mustard, and Vaquero BBQ. Small feeds 1 to 3, large feeds 4 to 6, and either one feeds the crew.

Canal is torn up right in front of us — cones, closed lanes, the works.

Honestly, the best parking spot is your own driveway: leave the car there and rideshare in.

Driving anyway? Swipe to the map.
Park down Commerce Street or on the side streets off Canal, and give yourself a few extra minutes to walk up.

The rundown: the Philly un-retires at 11am for one day only. Happy hour sticks around all day, so it's $4 TX b**rs open to close. Vendor market rolls up at 5, Ringo Deathstarr and Fawn get loud starting at 8pm, and anniversary merch lives at the register for as long as it lasts, which won't be long.

Friday only: a glizzy ode to the mighty BCR (that's Bacon Chicken Ranch, for all y'all fancy folks). Featuring a ranch seasoned smoked chicken glizzy, with bacon and cheddar topped with Shredded cheddar, red onion, lettuce, tomato, and creamy dill sauce.

The September regular: the Chopped Cheese. Sazon seasoned ground beef chopped on the flat top with onions and poblanos, sharp white cheddar and American melted straight in, piled on a buttered hoagie with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and black pepper ketchup. Intrusive Thoughts are back, and this week we took everything we love about a carnitas taco and rebuilt it in glizzy form.

One Friday only: the Carnitas Dog a 1/2lb Smoked Boudin stuffed w/ spicy pork carnitas and cilantro lime rice, stuffed and ready. Then it gets topped: roasted corn salsa with red bell pepper, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and lime, plus Cotija, mayo, and green sauce.

A whole taco truck in one bite.

Friendly reminder: the Chopped Cheese still runs every Friday this month.

No gifts necessary, just come thirsty.

We're keeping the regular menu limited that day, but the Philly is BACK for one day only starting at 11am. And since it's our birthday, happy hour runs all day: sip $4 TX b**rs from open to close.

Vendor market kicks off at 5 and Ringo Deathstarr and company get loud at 7:30.

Big bodega energy on the patio today and every Friday this month.

There is no elegant way to eat a chopped cheese, and that's the point. Sazon seasoned ground beef, poblano peppers and onions beaten into submission on a flat top, sharp white cheddar and American cheese folded in for good measure, and the whole affair loaded onto a toasted hero with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and black pepper ketchup that are all doing their best under the circumstances.

It weighs about as much as a chihuahua, has zero structural integrity, and will probably sell out immediately. Please don't go scorched earth on our Google reviews if you miss it. You've got three more Fridays to try.

Introducing the newest Intrusive Thoughts sando for September: the Chopped Cheese. Sazon seasoned ground beef chopped on the flat top with onions and poblano peppers, sharp white cheddar and American cheese melted straight into the mix, then piled on a buttered hoagie with shredded lettuce, tomato, mayo, and black pepper ketchup. Chopped, screwed, smothered, and stacked. Insanely good and unreasonably large.

Also on shift: the Jalapeño Cheddar Dog. Sharp cheddar, caramelized onions, roasted jalapeño coleslaw, and a drizzle of Carolina Gold BBQ. Don't get attached. This one's Friday only.

Intrusive Thoughts is running it back with the exceptionally friendly pineapple teriyaki glizzy. Made by our friends at The Chopping Block, decked out with red onion, jalps, bacon, bonito flakes, and mayo. Sweet, smoky, and spicy, all riding on the back of a pork pineapple teriyaki sausage.

Meanwhile the Jerk Chicken Banh Mi is still pulling Friday shifts: 48-hour marinated jerk thigh, ginger peach jam, the pickled carrot/cucumber/daikon situation, and mayo keeping the peace.

They say the best way to beat the heat is spicy food and copious amounts of cold b**r. Lucky for you, we got both.

Soft Palms hits the Tower on August 15 with the kind of hazy, floaty psych-pop that makes the patio feel a little more magical. Local band The Midnight Papers will be joining the lineup too, because one good band is nice, but two is better.
