Barbecue editor at Texas Monthly. In the reel he says it plain. “I love the simplicity of these ribs. Salt, pepper, and smoke. You really get the pork flavor. Pure Barbecue.”

Pork ribs over the oldest brick pit in Houston. Opened in 1935 as Shepherd Drive Bar-B-Q by John and Leila Davis. Moved in 1963, and the pit came with them, brick by brick. Jerry Pizzitola took the room in 1983. James Maida owns it now. Tim Taylor walked him through the pit room.
