To our customers,
Fred Chason opened Chason’s BBQ in 1979 in Lumber Bridge, N.C. Some of us on this page can recall eating there. We can recall the lines that wrapped around the old wooden building, the sound of Mr. Chason’s booming voice, and the taste of good southern cooking. It served thousands of people across the region for many years. Mr. Chason died in 1995, and Chason’s Buffet burned down in 1997.
Mr. Chason’s daughter, Deborah Chason, opened Chason’s on Eastern Blvd. in 1997. Our customers came out and supported the new location. We had many years of success there. In 2000, Deborah Chason had a car accident which resulted in the closing of the restaurant. While Ms. Chason can no longer work, she is in good health and is excited about our next chapter.
In 2005 Mr. Chason’s grandsons Todd and Matt Warga, and Todd’s Wife, Sheryl Warga, opened Grandsons Buffet. Todd and Sheryl met while working at Chason’s BBQ in Lumber Bridge, and Matt Warga and his wife, Brooke Horne met while working together at Grandson’s Buffet
For the last 20 years, Grandson’s Buffet has become a staple in the community. We owe our success to the hard work and dedication of our associates and to the support of our customers. We have made it through the peaks and valleys that naturally come with running a restaurant. Even through the pandemic you showed us your love and support.
Grandon’s Buffet is closing after 20 years at our location on 5339 Marracco Drive in Hope Mills. Chason’s Buffet will open on Wednesday, July 2nd at our new location at 1758 Owen Drive. The family tradition will continue with our new owner Dylan Warga. Dylan is the great grandson of Fred Chason and the son of Todd and Sheryl Warga. He has been in the restaurant since he was a small child, and he is excited to continue to serve the community.
We are proud to say that all our former associates will be joining us. We will be serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, seven days a week! We ask that you follow our new page Chasons Buffet
We hope you join us!
A huge thank you from the Warga family to all of you.
