⭐ Meet the Student Stars: Marquavious Anderson ⭐

A rising senior at Hoover High School - Alabama, Marquavious Anderson is entering his third year in the Culinary and Hospitality Academy at Riverchase Career Connection Center - RC3 and has already established himself as a leader both inside and outside the classroom.

Marquavious has served as an RC3 Ambassador, Vice President of Finance for Alabama FCCLA State Page, and is a member of the National Technical Honor Society. He has competed in the Alabama ProStart Invitational on both the Culinary and Management teams, including serving as Team Captain for the Management Competition.

When he's not pursuing his passion for culinary arts, business management, and leadership, Marquavious is also a dedicated high school and club soccer player.

We're excited to watch Marquavious showcase his talent, determination, and creativity at Hoover Iron Chef Student Stars 2026! 🍽️⭐

Meet Chef Brian Mooney, owner and executive chef of Tre Luna Bar and Kitchen and Tre Luna Catering.

Brian's culinary journey began in South Florida, where he attended culinary school while his wife, Erin, built her own career in the food service industry. Together, they shared a dream of creating a business centered around great food, hospitality, and family.

Following the success of Tre Luna Catering, Brian and Erin opened Tre Luna Bar and Kitchen in 2019. The restaurant features an Italian-inspired menu designed for everything from casual weeknight dinners to special celebrations. The name "Tre Luna" honors the Mooneys' three children—their "Three Moons"—and reflects the family-centered values that are at the heart of everything they do.

For Brian and his team, hospitality goes beyond serving great food. Their commitment to integrity, creativity, professionalism, and exceptional customer service has helped establish Tre Luna as a favorite dining destination and catering partner throughout the community.

We're excited to welcome Chef Brian Mooney to Hoover Iron Chef Student Stars and look forward to seeing him share his experience and passion for the culinary arts with the next generation of chefs. 👨‍🍳✨

Meet Meghan Howard, a Baking & Pastry Arts student at Jefferson State Culinary & Hospitality Institute with a passion for learning, creativity, and excellence in the kitchen.

Meghan has competed in numerous baking competitions throughout her culinary journey, including Alabama FCCLA State Page Baking & Pastry competitions, where she earned 2nd Place and advanced to the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida.

Driven by a desire to continually improve her craft, Meghan believes in holding herself to a high standard, always asking questions, and never stopping her pursuit of knowledge. Her dedication to learning has helped her build a strong foundation in the culinary arts while preparing for an exciting future in the pastry industry.

Looking ahead, Meghan hopes to travel abroad to work and study in bakeries and pastry programs around the world, gaining experience with different techniques, traditions, and cultures.

When she's not baking, Meghan enjoys crocheting and spending time with animals.
