Located in what was once a low-rise wooden apartment building near a main thoroughfare, it has been restored and renovated into a cozy Japanese restaurant that includes a sake bar and indoor dining space as well as outdoor seating on a courtyard terrace. They have created a welcoming space for everyone t

o enjoy while partaking in good food and sake. At ZIGU, they use fresh local Hawaii ingredients to build a menu that is sure to please even the most discerning palate. They have a large variety of appetizers made from local ingredients, such as Japanese omelets and delectable seafood dishes featuring abalone, great amberjack, and Kahuku Shrimp. Sushi, deep-fried skewers, nabe hot pot, and soba noodles are all part of their tempting menu, so you will be sure to find something that will not only fill your stomach but please your taste buds. On top of the array of delicious food selections, they have a full-service sake bar. Sake, a rice wine, is often drunk with Japanese food, as it is one of the only alcoholic beverages you can drink that doesn’t influence the taste of your meal. They also offer shochu, which is a distilled spirit with a relatively low alcohol content that allows for easier drinking.
