WDRB+WAVE News Chief Meteorologist Kevin Harned will serve as Grand Marshal of the Lincoln Days Parade at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, in downtown Hodgenville.

A Nelson County native and Purdue University graduate, Harned began his television career at WAVE in 1998. He became chief meteorologist in 2010 following the retirement of his mentor, John Belski, whom Harned first met in the seventh grade.

For more than two decades, Harned has covered Kentucky weather ranging from tornadoes and hurricanes to floods and major winter storms. He has also hosted WAVE Listens, filled in on the anchor desk and currently hosts Secrets of Bluegrass Chefs.

Harned is active throughout Kentucky communities, making appearances and using his hobby of auctioneering to raise money for local charities. The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce named him its 2012 Man of the Year.
He was also one of the youngest members of the American Meteorological Society to receive its Television Broadcast Seal of Approval.

Harned has often summed up his connection to the community simply: “Weather is my hobby and people are my passion.”

🎶 SEAN OF THE SOUTH CONCERT — IMPORTANT INFORMATION! 🎶
We’re looking forward to seeing you this Saturday, September 26th at Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park! Here are a few things you need to know before you arrive:
🚗 PARKING
The Birthplace Visitor Center parking lot will be reserved for accessible parking only. For all others, the Birthplace Visitor Center parking lot will close at 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). Non-accessible parking will be at Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. Address for Abraham Lincoln Elementary School is: 2101 Lincoln Farm Road, Hodgenville, KY 42748.
🚌 FREE SHUTTLE
Free shuttle service will begin at 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) from Abraham Lincoln Elementary School. Please allow extra time for parking and the shuttle. Small coolers, chairs, blankets…etc. will be allowed on the shuttle bus.
🅿️ OVERFLOW PARKING
If the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School parking area reaches capacity, the Birthplace Picnic Area, across 31E from the Birthplace will be used for overflow parking. Please follow directions from park staff.
🌳 LAWN SEATING
There is no reserved seating. Seating will be on the lawn and is first-come, first-served. Bring your lawn chair or blanket! Chairs will not be allowed to be placed until 3:15pm (Eastern Time)
🥪 BRING YOUR OWN FOOD & DRINKS
There will be NO food vendors on site. Bring your own food, snacks, small, hand-carried coolers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages & illegal substances are prohibited.
🌧️ RAIN OR SHINE!
The concert will take place rain or shine. Umbrellas and tents are NOT permitted. Please bring ponchos and come prepared for the weather!
📚 MEET & GREET
Sean will hold a Meet & Greet at the stage following the concert. Bring your Sean of the South books or other items if you'd like him to autograph them!
🚻 RESTROOMS
The Birthplace Visitor Center restrooms will remain open throughout the event, & portable restrooms will also be available.
🏛️ FACILITY CLOSURES
The Birthplace Visitor Center will close at 5:00 p.m. & the Memorial Building will close at 4:30 p.m. (Eastern Time)
