We regret to inform our community that we unfortunately are cancelling our Memorial Day Brews, Blues, & BBQ event, as well as putting a pause on Live Music on the Lawn Fridays, due to a neighbor who has expressed concerns over noise. As a commercial business within a lovely community, we know our limits, both legally and in good-neighborly fashion. All of our live music events have been family friendly, conducted within decibel limits (our musicians can attest to this as we were very strict about it) and were over by or before 8pm. We have had countless immediate neighbors and neighbors up the road come to our live music and events and tell us how amazing we are for providing a “cheers”-like atmosphere for this community, where neighbors can enjoy dinner, music and have a loyal hangout within town to visit on the regular. We were bringing in ONLY local musicians and supporting local artists to showcase their talents. We were hosting a FREE live music on the lawn weekly during a time where gas is $5 a gallon and stepping outside of your house feels like you’re spending a minimum of $100 a day. These events helped us to get to know the locals, make connections, and become one with the community; a community we’re growing to love. Being a small business in this economic climate is difficult and it is disheartening to deal with threats from a neighbor when you are simply providing a welcoming space for your community to gather in a relaxed, respectful and non-disruptive way. While this is a pause that we are voluntarily taking as a result of this particular neighbor’s concerns, please be rest assured that we are doing our due-diligence in order to resume live music in the future. We’re sorry to have to disappoint our community and we hope it won’t be for long. In the meantime, come on in and support your local watering hole, grab a delicious bite to eat, and be a good neighbor, because isn’t that what being in a small town is all about?
