SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES
A local business, The Dawg Pound, is closing it's store front again. John, the owner, use to have a physical location on Hwy 127 in Viewmont. He sold around 3000 hot dogs a week. The little restaurant had a drive thru customers could place an order and drive on to their next destination. Sadly, this location was sold in June 2024.
John decided to purchased a food trailer and leased a new store front over on Springs Road. Today there is a local news article about him and his business. The owner of this 2nd location has sued him for back rent. John hasn't been able to meet rent since July of 2026. The court ordered John to pay the landlord around $8,000 in back rent and legal fees. John said, and I am not quoting here, the business ran out of money. The Dawg Pound went from 3000 hot dogs a week to 600 to 800 a week. John had to bring the building up to code for the restaurant and pay for repairs on the hvac. John is doing what he can to keep his business going. He is moving out of the store and going to run is business from his food trailer. Again, support small businesses!
