I don’t talk about this part of Pies of Amor enough. ❤️
Baking started as something I enjoyed. Then it became a business. But somewhere in between, it became something I didn’t even realize I needed.
It became therapy.
There is something about putting my hands to work that quiets everything else. For those few hours, my mind has somewhere to go. I can focus on the next layer, the next color, the next little detail instead of everything else happening inside my head.
And no, baking isn’t always peaceful. 😂 Sometimes an order has me stressed TF OUT, questioning all my life choices and wondering why I didn’t pick a less stressful hobby. 💁🏻♀️
But somehow… I always come back to it.
Mental health is deeply personal to me. I’ve had seasons of my life when simply making it through the day was an accomplishment. I’ve also learned that healing doesn’t always look like sitting in a therapist’s office. Sometimes it looks like prayer. Sometimes it looks like asking for help. Sometimes it looks like community. Sometimes it looks like creating something beautiful with your own two hands.
For me, sometimes it looks like cake. 🎂❤️
So on World Mental Health Day, I just want to remind someone: take care of your mind with the same intention you take care of everyone and everything else. Find the things that quiet the noise. Let people love you. Ask for help when you need it. And please don’t convince yourself that you have to carry everything alone.
I’m grateful God gave me something that has brought me peace during some of the hardest seasons of my life.
Turns out, Pies of Amor has given a whole lot of amor back to me. 🥹❤️
And if you’d like to know more about my story—the parts that happened before the cakes, behind the smile, and throughout my healing—I shared a piece of it in WISE WOMEN EMPOWER WOMEN. ❤️
My story is bigger than what I can fit into a reel, and if sharing it helps even one woman feel a little less alone, then it was worth telling.
There’s a link in my bio if you’d like to order a copy. 🥹📖❤️
