Our last night of service as Russia House will be Tuesday, July 9th!!

We are incredibly grateful for the support and loyalty you have shown us over the past 32 years. From our family to yours, thank you for the countless memories shared within our walls.

However, this is not a goodbye!! We are thrilled to announce that we will be reopening as La Bonne Vie on Thursday, July 11th.

We hope you’ll join us for our final days as Russia House and come back to experience La Bonne Vie. Thank you for being part of our journey, and we look forward to welcoming you to our new chapter.

Exciting News! A New Chapter Begins!

Dear Russia House Family,

We are thrilled to announce that our beloved Russia House Restaurant is undergoing an exciting transformation! As part of our commitment to providing you with the best dining experience, we are rebranding with a new name, La Bonne Vie. This change reflects our dedication for bringing you vibrant flavors and rich traditions inspired by French cuisine.

At La Bonne Vie, we will be creating a dining experience that celebrates the art of French cooking, using the finest ingredients and time-honored techniques to craft exquisite dishes that transport diners to the streets of Paris.

We invite our loyal patrons, friends, and community members to join us over the next few weeks in celebrating the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter. We have loved being apart of this amazing Herndon community for 32 years and while bidding farewell to Russia House is bittersweet, we are excited for what the future holds.

If you are looking for one of a kind cuisine, exceptional service, in a warm and elegant atmosphere, please join us at Russia House Restaurant. The Russia House is a family owned business; owners Ali and Homeyra are always there to personally take care of their guests. Set in historic Herndon, Virginia the Russia House Restaurant offers Russian hospitality and culinary excellence in all its details.

The Russia House opened in July of 1992 by the friendly owners Ali and Homerya Darugar, together they created and atmosphere of aristocratic dining with classic cuisine, with the warm feeling that you are dining at your aristocratic grandmother's table. Mrs. Darugar moved from Russia with her grandparents to Switzerland, where she learned to cook in her grandmother’s kitchen. She brought her great culinary talents here to the United States and created the exquisite menu and served as the head chef in the first few years the restaurant was opened. The restaurant features Russian, Continental and Georgian cuisine with a French flair.

The amount of effort that the owners put into the culinary details is apparent from their ability to create a seemingly endless variety of tangy cream sauces, to the influence of French cuisine.

During the reign of the czars, the Russians brought in many French chefs, hence the French culinary influence. Many of the menu selections are actually prepared at your table.
