I had so much fun filming today with WDIO chief meteorologist Justin Liles at The Cranberry over Superior

September is Hunger Awareness Month and they are working with Second Harvest Northland to "FEED THE NEED" campaign

4 Local Chefs were selected from the Lake Superior Region to compete in a mystery basket competition with these ingredients:
pork chops, egg noodles, apples, onion, fruit cocktail, rice, corn, marinara sauce and green beans! We also had Justin as our Sous Chef in the kitchen!

I created a pork Milanese with red sauce egg noodles and a little Scandinavian dessert of rice pudding with apple chutney....you'll get to see me unveil the mystery basket and decide what to make with the ingredients

Our segment will air on Friday, September 11th at 5 pm. You will have a chance to vote for your favorite chef - we hope you pick the Cranberry!

MEET OUR STAFF SUNDAY!

Meet Hazel! Hazel started with us last summer as a ninja wait assist and transitioned into a serving position this summer! She's a first-time server (and there's a lot to learn!), but she has such a strong work ethic and can-do attitude that she made it look easy. She's fierce, she's empathetic, she's kind- hearted, she's persistent, and she's very intentional.

Outside of work she's found her passions in writing speculative fiction short stories, bow hunting, fishing, and downhill ski racing. We only have her for a short time, as she'll soon be headed to Madison to attend the U of WI to work towards a Premed degree in Global Health, so the next time you see her wish her well on her upcoming journey. We are immensely grateful to be a part of her story, and we cannot wait to see her life adventures unfold!

One of our favorite weekends of the year where you can step inside the studios of the artists whose artwork adorns our dining room walls all year long.
