Rise Over Run is a woman-owned, NC-based w**e importer and distributor specializing in small-production, minimal-intervention w**es that reflect the places they come from. Their thoughtfully curated selection celebrates unique vineyards, independent w**emakers, and the stories behind each bottle.

The weather doesn’t look great, but we’re going to have a grand old time in the market, so join us!

Need a quick dinner? We’ve got you covered!

Our freezer is stocked with some really delicious locally made meals for those nights when you don’t feel like cooking. Grab a lasagna, Eggplant Parm, or Chicken Parm from Homemade Pasta Noodles, or pick up a Chicken Pot Pie or Heirloom Tomato Pie from Blue Moon Specialty Foods.

Easy, delicious, and made locally, with plenty of options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Just heat it up and dinner is done! See you at the market!

We have to tell you about the people behind some of the beautiful wood pieces you can find around the market! Caitlin and Mike are Made in Bus, a woodcrafting couple living and working out of their renovated school bus here in Western North Carolina.

And when we say handmade, we really mean it! They’re part of the whole process, from tree to finished piece, turning local native woods into functional things for your home and everyday life. There’s something really inspirational about knowing where something came from, who made it, and even where the wood itself came from, and that’s a huge part of why we love having Made in Bus in the shop.

The pumpkins have ARRIVED. 🎃 Y’all, these aren’t your averages ones either. We’ve got a beautiful haul of NC-grown heirloom pumpkins in all kinds of colors, shapes and sizes. You’re going to need to come pick out your favorites before I claim them all for our front porch. 😛

The market also has classic organic NC pie pumpkins for your fall baking and a great assortment of seasonal produce including kabocha squash, red kuri squash, spaghetti squash, butternut.

Our New Autumn Menu is Here! 🍁

Y’all, we gave our entire menu a fall refresh, and after being open for over a year now, it’s really exciting to try out some new items.

Autumn Apple Toast. Braised Chuck Sandwich. Black Bean & Beet Burger. Caesar Salad. Autumn Harvest Salad. Joyce Farms wings. Acorn Squash & Burrata. Girl Dinner (!!). New dinner plates with a whole lineup of new sides. And FOCACCIA PIZZAS made with focaccia from French Broad Pastry.

And because apparently that wasn’t enough, brunch got some new additions too: Stewed Apple Pancakes, a Braised Chuck & Pimento Cheese Biscuit, and Scrambles.

Plus, you can now add shrimp as a protein, there’s a new Almond Butter & Imladris Farms jam sandwich for the kiddos, and our overnight oats got a fall makeover.

Basically, you’re going to need a few visits to try it all. Come try the new fall menu and let us know what you think! 🍎🍂

Autumn has a very special place in my heart. When our first daughter was born, it was right as the cold air started settling in. As our family has grown over the years, it always feels like this change of season brings our family peace and a little magic. We spend more time outside. We start to go to bed earlier. Our wood stove comes back to life.

We’re hoping the market and cafe bring a little of that magic to y’all too. We’ve filled our shelves with supplies for baking and crafts, fall-flavored teas from Asheville Tea Company, pumpkin honey from Honeybee Bliss 🐝, pumpkin spice peanut butter from Kathy O'Neal, fall dog treats from Botanical Bones | Treat Dogs with Wellness, and so much more.

Also, our new fall drink menu is pretty fantastic, at least in my biased opinion. Our baristas are having so much fun toasting marshmallows for you!

Meet Appalachian Jules!

If you’ve spent some time browsing the Market, you’ve probably come across Appalachian Jules. Julia Johnson lives in Hendersonville and makes handmade, non-toxic, nature-inspired goods for the home.

Julia grew up on Lake Keowee in Seneca, SC, and has always had a strong connection to the outdoors. After studying nutrition and dietetics at Clemson, she moved to Western North Carolina and started Appalachian Jules in 2020 while in graduate school for mental health counseling.

Her candles are made with soy wax, wood wicks, phthalate-free fragrances, essential oil blends and natural flora, and her soaps are made using the traditional cold-process method with natural and sustainable oils.

“I believe that every item that enters the home should have a purpose, bring joy, and provide beauty.”

These days, when she’s not creating in her home studio, you can find her at local art markets or outside with her husband, two rescue dogs and their 5-month-old son.

We love getting to fill the Market with goods made by people in our community, and we’re so happy to have Appalachian Jules on our shelves. Next time you’re in, take a look! ✨
