Today marks 5 years since God called my brother Anthony home to Heaven, and not a single day has gone by that he hasn’t been missed deeply. 💔🙏
Anthony was more than a mailman. He was one of the last of a generation that believed in hard work, loyalty, kindness, and doing the right thing even when nobody was watching. A devoted son. A loving brother. A faithful friend. A familiar face to an entire town that trusted and respected him.
For so many people in McAdoo, Anthony wasn’t just “the mailman.” He was part of their daily life. He checked on the elderly, helped people whenever he could, walked through snowstorms and bad weather without complaint, and carried himself with dignity, pride, and compassion every single day. He gave his work his whole heart, and it showed.
There aren’t many people left in this world like him.
When God took him home on May 30, 2021, a piece of my heart went with him. I find comfort knowing he is reunited in Heaven with our beautiful parents, wrapped in God’s eternal peace and love. But down here on Earth, the emptiness never truly leaves.
Sometimes I still catch myself wanting to hear his voice one more time. Sometimes just seeing a mail truck, hearing his name, or thinking about old memories brings the tears right back like no time has passed at all. That’s what happens when someone leaves footprints on your heart forever.
