One of the things I’m most thankful for as a celiac mom is the thoughtfulness of other parents. ❤️
Every school year, I’m reminded how much the little things matter when it comes to birthday treats, whether it’s a classroom celebration or a party at someone’s home.
One mom brought a treat specifically for my daughter. Another texted me to make sure what they were bringing was gluten-free. And another, even at the last minute, thought to ask if I could send something for my daughter, and honestly, I was just happy she thought of her.
Because here’s the thing: navigating birthdays and parties with celiac disease can be hard. It’s the worry about whether there will be something safe, the feeling of being left out, and the extra planning that goes into something most families don’t have to think twice about.
And while I never expect other parents to accommodate my daughter, when they do think of her, it means more than they probably realize. 🥹
It’s not about having the perfect treat. It’s about making a little girl feel included, remembered, and considered.
So, to the parents who ask questions, double-check ingredients, or simply think about the kid who might otherwise be left out: thank you. You’re making this celiac mama’s heart happy, and you’re making a difference in ways you may never fully realize. ❤️
