Closed on Sundays: What a feeling. We close on Sundays so we can reflect on our week. So we can rest. So we can prepare for that inevitable grind that we sign up for the moment we say “I want to work in a restaurant”. It use to feel like an obsession. Stuck in “survival” mode just to keep our heads above water high enough to send a fake smile over the counter so you don’t see the tears we are holding back to make your day. This industry is everything it says it is, from the HIGHEST OF HIGH to the lowest of low. Today’s reflection took me further back than I planned on going this Sunday. That drive and that focus no longer feels like an obsession or even like it’s costing me anything at this point in my life. I came back home to give back everything I was BORN TO GIVE. Today feels like DAY ONE after reflecting and there’s no words that can share how I’m feeling right now, today and for the rest of my life. So I plan to show it in my work and everything I give to everyone who trusts me to SERVE. ❤️
