Haven’t been to work in the dark in awhile…. Early morning out putting up signs Harwich Chamber of Commerce has a BUSY event weekend - Saturday Oct 3rd our 4th Annual Law Enforcement Appreciation with our community partner Hinckley Home Center…

Then it’s our 2nd Annual Barks in the Park Sunday Oct 4th 10-3 with our partners Harwich Animal Control- Harwich Health Department and Harwich Community Center behind the Harwich Community Center !

We know many of you are used to hearing the winner announced at our motorcycle run. This year, we’ll draw the winning ticket when all tickets have been sold.

🌧️ Nor’easter Update: Strongest Impacts Expected Today
The nor’easter continues to affect Cape Cod this morning, with the strongest winds and other impacts expected today into early Sunday.

💨 A High Wind Warning is in effect through early Sunday morning, with sustained winds of 25–35 mph and gusts potentially reaching 45–60 mph.

🌊 Coastal Flood Warnings and Advisories are in effect through Sunday evening. Minor coastal flooding, pockets of moderate flooding and beach erosion are possible, particularly around high tide cycles.

🌧️ Rain continues through Monday, with heavier bands possible at times and the potential for localized street and poor-drainage flooding.

⚓ Marine conditions are especially dangerous today. A Storm Warning is in effect through 8 PM Saturday, with storm-force winds and very rough offshore seas. Mariners should remain in port or secure vessels for severe conditions.

One encouraging sign so far: power outages across the region have remained relatively low. The infrastructure repairs and extensive tree work completed by Eversource and Cape Cod towns following the February blizzard are paying off, helping keep outages low during this storm.

But we’re not through it yet. Strong winds will continue into Sunday morning, and with trees still fully leafed out, the risk of downed limbs, trees and power outages remains.

For now: secure anything outdoors that can still be safely secured, keep phones charged, stay away from rough surf and flooded coastal areas, and never drive through standing water.
