Presented by Mountain Barn Builders of Clarkrange, Tennessee

The Trousdale County Lady Yellow Jackets capped off an impressive District 8-A Volleyball Tournament run Wednesday night, defeating East Robertson 3-1 to capture the 2026 District 8-A Volleyball Championship at Bill Landreth Gymnasium on the campus of Smith County High School.

And they did it with plenty of support from home!

A raucous and rowdy contingent of Trousdale County fans made the trip from Hartsville, creating an electric championship atmosphere as the Lady Yellow Jackets battled their way to the district title.

The Lady Yellow Jackets entered Wednesday’s championship matchup riding the momentum of a convincing 3-0 semifinal victory over Innovation Academy. Waiting for them was an East Robertson squad that had punched its ticket to the finals following a thrilling five-set victory over Gordonsville.

With the district championship on the line, Trousdale County answered the challenge, taking three of four sets against the Lady Indians to secure the victory and send the Hartsville faithful into celebration mode!

The 3-1 championship victory puts an exclamation point on an outstanding district tournament performance for the Lady Yellow Jackets, who now carry championship momentum into the regional round.

For her outstanding performance in Wednesday night’s championship victory, Callie Griffin of Trousdale County has been named the Mountain Barn Builders Prime Time Performer of the Game!

Griffin stepped up on the championship stage, helping lead the Lady Yellow Jackets past East Robertson and earning the spotlight for her contributions to the district title victory.
