Our family has been deeply touched by the overwhelming love and support we received during these past 7 weeks. From your prayers and kind words to the meals, hugs, friendship, and time you gave so generously — we have felt surrounded and carried through by a community that truly loves and cares. Thank you for walking with us in our grief and for honoring Mark’s life in such meaningful ways. We are forever grateful.

Dear Claysville Family and Friends,

We appreciate all who have reached out over the past week with thoughts and prayers for our favorite chicken fryer, Mark Hooibrink. It is with the deepest sadness we share that Mark went to his forever home this afternoon.
We ask for continued prayers for our family as we navigate this earthly loss. Even in this circumstance, we have peace in our hearts as we know he is with our Lord and Savior. As a friend shared, this is our worst day, but his best day. We have comfort in knowing we will see him again.

John 16:33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

We would like to take this time to thank you for all of your prayers and support. We know that our Claysville family and friends are concerned about our recent family emergency. And what a blessing it is to be surrounded by so much love.
Our favorite chicken fryer would not want anyone worried about him, but he needs all of us praying for healing. We are not sharing a lot at this time, publicly, because we do not have a lot of information. The best thing you can do for us is to continue prayers. We are seeing all of your messages, and appreciate every single one. We know our Lord has us in His arms.
