I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…..
I LOVE our staff and I LOVE being a part of their milestones in life. Soooooo much!!

My spicy Amanda has been here the longest…8 of our 12 years!! I’ve watched her get a new job, get a promotion, get married to Kyle, buy a house, buy a bigger house and now she’s about to have a Bear Trap Cub!! (And his name is “Move aside Klyde!” 😉)

And sweet Catherine, I don’t know how it is that I got lucky enough to have you walk through my door and ask for a job, but I am so thrilled that you did! And just like with Amanda, I have watched her graduate college, go to graduate school, graduate, get her doctorate, and now get engaged to the love of her life Ethan, who ALSO worked for us.

So what do you do when one of your kids is having a baby in August and another is getting married in September…

And that’s a WRAP!! Miranda snuck out before we could do the photo and you guys all know that Ava is always here during the day!

For the first time in a very VERY long time, we had a few snafus in the kitchen. Mike and Ben are such a great team that they  rarely make a mistake.

To those of you that were kind and showed us grace when we made a mistake, THANK YOU so much for your understanding & patience.

I KNOW that we aren’t perfect, no restaurant is, and NOBODY takes it harder than our staff.

One of the tables actually made Miranda cry and that breaks my heart because it was NOT the fault of the bartenders, it was an accident that was made in the kitchen.

Our staff, from the bartenders to the kitchen, take it personally when they know they have made a mistake. 

I apologized PROFUSELY to that table of adults that made her cry and told them I would comp their meals & their drinks and it would just be a little bit longer.

The Mom told me that their 7 year old son was absolutely starving and just couldn’t wait anymore. She was beyond angry, and again, I get it, we made a mistake and we let them down but none of it was intentional and she was relentless.

The cold stare from her husband, and her parents was unnerving. No one feels worse than the owner when mistakes are made. 

That same seven-year-old boy, her son, after I had said “I’m sorry” AT LEAST 10 times, looked at me with a giant smile and said “It’s ok!! We all make mistakes! It’s OK! I’m ok and so are you!!! I like your food and I’ll be back!”

When the child at the table was more accepting of my apology and more understanding of the mistake we made than the 4 adults…..wow. Just wow.

We are all human. And we all make mistakes. If we can’t show one another some grace, then we’ve got a lot to work to do as a society.

So again, thank you to the tables that had an error for being gracious and kind, and to that darling seven-year-old boy, YOU ROCK!!! Thank you for setting an example for the rest of your family!

No experience necessary. Our menu is simple.
