My very first speaking engagement
Last week, I had the opportunity to speak at CCSU for the kickoff of Hispanic Heritage Month and share a little bit of my story-how I got started, why I started, the vision I have for the future, and some of the challenges and setbacks I’ve experienced along the way.
Thank you to everyone who reached out, invited me, and gave me the space to share. This was such a cool opportunity, especially during a week that was honestly a rough for me.
But being in that room reminded me of something I’m always learning: learning never stops. And learning can look a million different ways. It doesn’t always happen inside a classroom. Sometimes it looks like taking a risk, starting a business, failing, trying again, asking questions, meeting people, or simply being open to something new.
Not too bad for someone who didn’t even finish community college.
I’m still learning. Still building. Still figuring it out. And I’m grateful for every opportunity that reminds me how far I’ve come.
Thank you, Latin American, Latino, and Caribbean Center for having me and for letting me share my story. 🇵🇷
Here’s to staying curious, trying new things, and never thinking you’re done learning.
