Meet The Vamp. 🖤🍒

Where are my chocolate lovers at?

In the early 1900s, a vamp was the woman who turned heads when she walked into a room—bold, alluring, a little dangerous, and completely unapologetic about it.

So naturally, we made her a cookie. 😏

The Vamp is a rich chocolate cookie loaded with decadent chocolate and tart dried cherries. She’s dark, indulgent, a little unexpected, and definitely not for anyone looking for a plain little cookie.

This one came out of the Sassy Pantry R&D kitchen this week, and after one bite, we knew she had earned her name.

Chocolate lovers—this one’s for you. 🖤

Meet the newest member of the Sassy Pantry kitchen.

This is my new Ankarsrum mixer. Best of luck pronouncing that… Sounds like Anchor-srum. Still can’t pronounce it? Good. Me either.

We’re currently working on our relationship. 😂

As I keep developing and testing recipes for Sassy Pantry, I knew I needed equipment that could eventually handle bigger batches. Like, 11 lbs worth of dough. This Swedish workhorse came highly recommended, but there’s definitely been a learning curve! And by learning curve, I mean Jess still hasn’t gotten the hang of it.

Part of this whole process is figuring out not only the recipes, but the equipment that will help me make them consistently. Some days are wins. Some days involve questioning expensive purchasing decisions. 😆

We’re getting there. Slowly.

🥜 Meet Naughty Nutty 🥜

This thick, chunky little troublemaker is Naughty Nutty — a soft peanut butter cookie made with chunky peanut butter and loaded with peanut butter chips and chopped peanut butter cups.

After some testing and tweaking, she officially earned her place in the Sassy Pantry lineup!

And judging by the reviews so far… she may be a little dangerous. 😈

Well, hello again. 👋💕

It’s been a little quiet around The Sassy Pantry.

Some of you may remember this page from my jam & jelly days, but things are changing around here. We’re switching gears, firing up the ovens, and giving The Sassy Pantry a whole new chapter. 🍪

Behind the scenes, I’ve been baking. And testing. And tweaking. And buying new equipment. And recruiting unsuspecting friends and family as taste testers. 😂

There have been wins.

There have been fails.

There have been cookies that looked questionable but tasted amazing.

And there have been a few that made me want to throw the whole pan directly into the trash. 😂

But that’s part of the fun.

The Sassy Pantry is projected be opening alongside The Rusted J Resale this spring, and between now and then, I’m taking you along for the adventure — recipe testing, behind-the-scenes baking, new equipment, successes, failures, taste tests, and the process of figuring out exactly what deserves a spot in the Sassy Pantry lineup.

So stick around. It might get messy. 😏

The pantry is getting sassy again.

And our first official cookie introduction is coming next.
