The ever evolving Café au Rui. Changes in coffee station reflect 3 1/2 years since moving to Harrisburg, PA. Still roasting, improving, and enjoying homeboundroast though it’s been mostly for personal consumption given time constraints with work and family. Happy Friday all!

Coffee cupping is a great way to compare coffees and to develop appreciation for coffee notes. It’s also just a fun activity!
How to:
1. Pick out your beans and measure approximately out how much you want to use ( ratio ~60g/1L)
2. Grind beans to medium grind
3. Add hot water (approx 205 F) in ratio you have predetermined
4. Observe the wet aroma
5. Wait 4 minutes then break the top crust and scoop away
6. First taste using a spoon. You want to have a palate cleanser to use between coffees and also a cup of water to rinse the spoon to avoid cross contamination.
7. Wait 10min then taste again. Once coffee cools, a lot of the notes are brought out even further.
8. Compare notes with your cupping buddies!
