This upcoming MLK DAY ; not only will we be celebrating 2 whole YEARS of being in business but we’ll also will host some amazing people here at the McCormick Building in hopes to promote unity, peace, the late great Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, and well as promote literacy through reading.
We’ll be here all day but starting at 10AM, Dr. Jankail Adam’s and Jo Sheppard (both pictured) will be reading a book of their choice to any and all children that visit our location. Not to mention ALL CHILDREN 12 and UNDER WILL RECEIVE A FREE BOOK AFTER EACH READING!!!

Please take the time to come down to 101 Walnut St. at 10Am to celebrate 2 years of being in business in this great city of Harrisburg and to help us celebrate Dr. King, while reading some great books.

We’re a day late but we will still like to wish everyone and their beautiful families a HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We hope that everyone had a fantastic 2022 as much as we did and we’re praying that 2023 just as good to us as last year.

Today is set aside for a chance to gather with family, friends and loved ones in order to give thanks for all that we have over some amazing food. Hopefully Auntie made that Mac &Cheese she famous for, and Big Momma put it down on the Sweet Potato Pies. And please don’t try to cook if you haven’t attempted before. This isn’t the year to experiment. 5 Star Chefs don’t even get a pass on this day in our homes.

But we want to give thanks for all our customers. All of our supporters that like, share, comment, and just give us feedback on a constant base. We’re thankful for everyone of yall.

We’ll also be closed down at McCormick Building today, and tomorrow 11-25-2022 in order to give our employees a chance to celebrate family. We’ll be back open Saturday morning at 8AM sharp. We can wait to see everyone there.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience of the cafe inside the McCormick Building will be back open tomorrow morning at 8:30AM until 2:30PM.
We had a hiccup in employment but we’re back fully staffed and have reliable help.
Thank you to everyone that has supported us, or tried to support us this week. It has been a crazy week. And we’re looking forward to seeing everyone smiling face tomorrow morning, bright and early.

This live interview event showcases the stories of the people who have founded the local companies we all love. We are thrilled to host Stefan Hawkins, Owner of Good Brothas Book Café, to speak about establishing and running his thriving coffee shop in the heart of Midtown. Stefan will highlight what it takes to build a business and how to persevere through the challenges those may face when creating a recognizable brand in the local community.

October 21st, 2022 will now be forever known as “Good Brotha’s Day”
As our owner was presented today with a Proclamation by the Dauphin County Board of Commissioners . Today marks the first in history that a coffeeshop has been placed inside of a Dauphin County Library. Today couldn’t be more real. It was a huge success with a huge turnout. So many emotions and we’re so tired. But the show never stops.
We want to thank so many people from Karen Culling, Nick DiFrancesco, the entire Dauphin County Library System, it’s Board of Trustees, Partners and donors for making today happen.
We especially love to thank each Dauphin County Board of Commissioners members. Giving us this proclamation almost brought tears to our eyes. We feel seen more and valid in our effort to promote the importance of education and literacy, as well as our efforts on helping to push Black Literature to our community and city.
October 21st will be one for the book, and one for all the Good Brotha’s trying to make a difference in our communities for the youth.

We hope to see everyone here tomorrow morning Friday October 21st, 2022 as we open our doors for the second day at 8:30AM until 4PM. We’re ready to rock and roll and serve some of the best coffee in Central PA.

Midtown has been fun. We’re going to miss this great neighborhood. We’re ready for the next chapter of our book. Almost two years to the date we signed the lease for 1419 (September 14th, 2020,) we’ve done our best to bring new flavor to the residents of Midtown, and provide the best customer service, coffee and environment in the area. We’ve had our days, and we learned from every single person we’ve encountered that blessed us through that single door. We’ve enjoyed every single second down here on 3rd Street. We won’t forget not one person, one minute or encounter. We believed it has shaped us to become a better cafe, business and brand. And we can’t help but thank every single individual person that has sent a message, shared a post, liked or commented throughout our time here. And we definitely love and appreciate everyone that brought some from our establishment, our grocery provider or order online. We’re blessed and humbled to bring each and everyone one of the best coffees in Central Pennsylvania.

This isn’t a good bye, but a see ya later. We never want to say bye. We hate that, it’s a see you down the road. Downtown specifically. We’re hype! Excited! Beyond ready to make this leap into new territory and bring another great selection of coffee to 2nd Street.

See y’all in October ready to open with such another great brand, community partners, and city pillar as the Dauphin County Library System This is what’s needed in order to grow ourselves. We can’t wait!
