We had a blast serving up our signature smoked wings and ice cold drinks at the Downtown Live Wings & Strings festival in Jess Lucas Park this past Saturday! 🔥🎻

Thank you to our amazing crew (Antonio, Porter, Jessy, and Mikey!) for going above and beyond in preparing and serving hundreds of wings, the City of Hapeville for bringing the community together for another evening of local flavor, and to everyone who stopped by our tent, shared a laugh, and supported local! 🙌

We are so proud of Mike's son, Max, for putting words to something restaurant folks know deeply: that the lessons learned in a kitchen go far beyond cooking. 🍳💡

His latest piece for Harper’s BAZAAR, while technically a review of the new Anthony Bourdain biopic, is also a thoughtful reflection of his experiences growing up in the Tavern's kitchens and the real-world education that resonates long after the shift is over. He beautifully captures the urgency, humility, and resilience of restaurant work, and reminds us why we love it. 🤍

Our new mural is officially complete! 🎨✨

Designed by local artist Katelin Colburn (Katelin Colburn), this piece came to life during this year’s Summer Gallery Crawl as a community paint-by-numbers. Over the past few weeks, Katelin’s been back adding the finishing touches, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result. 🙌

It perfectly captures the Tavern’s rock & roll spirit and community roots, even sneaking in a tribute to the beloved cat who once lived in the basement of our Little 5 Points home. 🖤🐱
