As many of you know, Travis and I met at the creamery about 2 weeks after I originally opened. I was so caught up in starting the business, I couldn’t leave to go on a date, but told him if he was really interested, he could come help me make ice cream. He came in that night and I put his butt to work!!
About 6 months later, he dropped out of Penn State nursing clinicals to join forces with me and we signed a lease to open a second location together in Gettysburg. On our 1 year (dating) anniversary, we opened that location (about 2 weeks after we found out we were expecting our first little one!!)
It wasn’t too long after, he popped the question by making an ice cream flavor called “marry me?” Needless to say, I knew I found my soul mate... if you can work and live with someone without killing one another, you know it’s true love. 😅
On September 24, 2016, we closed up the shops (at that point, we already opened the third shop in new oxford too) and tied the knot at the family farm with all of our employees, friends, and family members by our sides. We walked out of the barn hand in hand while rainbow sprinkles were thrown in the air.
Since then, we’ve had a second son who has the same exact personality as his mama, renovated a burnt down schoolhouse, built a new building in Gettysburg and a daughter to the world! Our lives constantly revolve around this business and our beautiful children, and we wouldn’t change that for the world.
Each year, we celebrate our love story by bringing back his wonderful ice cream creation to share with all of you!
This decadent flavor, “marry me?” is a white wedding cake based flavor with swirls of buttercream, and is garnished with buttercream roses on top (he said he spent quite some time on youtube learning how to pipe those bad boys!)
This flavor is available through September 29th. We will be fully stocked in the dipping case for scoops and pints in the grab and go. Come celebrate with us! 💍👰🏻♀️🤵🏻♂️
