We appreciated KSDK Channel 5 stopping by Route 66 Creamery to learn more about the suspicious phone call we received on Saturday.

We reopened today and were overwhelmed by the incredible support from our community. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared kind words, checked in on our team, and supported us today. Your support means more than you know. ❤️🍦

We’re also thankful for the quick response and continued support from local law enforcement and first responders. The safety of our employees and guests will always remain our top priority.

Route 66 Creamery in Hamel, Illinois, shut down for the weekend after scammers posing as police frightened teen employees with a fake demand for cash.

We’re excited to share that Route 66 Creamery will reopen on Monday at 11:00am! 🍦❤️

Over the past day, we’ve been overwhelmed by the support, kindness, and encouragement from our amazing community. We truly appreciate everyone who reached out, checked in on our team, and supported us.

As part of our continued commitment to safety, we are having a security system installed immediately. About a month ago, we also upgraded the exterior lighting around the Creamery, keeping all angles of the parking lot brightly lit during the evening hours.

We want to give a special THANK YOU to the Hamel Police Department and all first responders for their support and dedication to our community each and every day. 🇺🇸

To show our appreciation, any first responder who visits Route 66 Creamery this week will receive a FREE ice cream cone!

We’re proud to be part of such a supportive community, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back Monday at 11am with smiles, burgers and ice cream. ❤️
