There has been a post made about Hazel’s today that has received a lot of attention. While we understand that not every experience will be perfect, we do feel it’s important to say that the claims made do not reflect who we are or the environment we’ve worked so hard to create.
Today, it was just Tae and I (Mal) working. If you’ve ever visited Hazel’s or know either of us personally, you know that making people feel welcome is at the heart of everything we do. We have poured our hearts, countless hours, and so much of ourselves into this little café because we genuinely love serving our community.
Reading statements like, “There was zero personality out of both of these girls and clearly don’t know what customer service is all about, not to mention they both looked like they really didn’t want to be there,” was incredibly heartbreaking. Those words simply do not reflect who we are or how we treat the people who walk through our doors.
We know that misunderstandings happen, and we know we won’t always get everything right. If someone ever has an issue or leaves feeling disappointed, we truly want to know. We will always listen with open ears, take feedback seriously, and do everything we can to make things right and improve moving forward.
As a small business, reviews carry a tremendous amount of weight. If you’ve ever owned or worked for a small business, you know how much one review can impact not only a business, but the people behind it. We only ask that if you ever have a concern, please give us the opportunity to hear it and make it right before walking away feeling unheard.
