We’ve been feeding and entertaining folks since 2005.It all started in a made-from-scratch cafe called Morsels in Bolivar, MO. In 2008 we put a certified kitchen in our Victorian farmhouse and created an outdoor dining venue where we host seasonal ticketed dinners, private events. In 2013 we began wowing our gluten-free guests with baked goods that were not only gluten-free, but grain-free with no refined sugars.

If you only go to one tag sale this year, I’d recommend this one.
Funds raised go towards women’s scholarships. I received one of these 35 years ago and it made all the difference for me.

The Monday after a big Hootennanny I try to throttle down to about 15% productivity. As long as the washing machine or dishwasher is humming, I don’t pressure myself to finish tearing down if I can help it.
So I’m enjoying this sunny little corner of the tent to munch potluck leftovers and reflect on all the sweet guests here for our barbershop evening. Thank you all for sharing your time & talents: the music, the food, the enthusiastic audience, the set up, the teardown. Over 50 of you poured onto the farm last night, ages 18 to 99 and it all went so smoothly.
We hope Picnic, Pie Supper & Piping Hot Barbershop becomes an annual tradition the weekend before the guys go to competition.
Wishing 7th and Main & The Chorduroys all the best this weekend. You sure wowed us!
As always we’d love to see your pictures and hope to see you next year, if not sooner.

I just adore meteor showers. My eyes will be on the sky, hot beverage in hand, this Thursday evening, October 8 for the Draconid meteor shower. I appreciate that it peaks right after sunset, rather than after midnight like most other showers.

Here we are enjoying the Geminids shower in the Rocky Mountains with our kids last December.

Ms. Long’s Kindergarten for grownups was such great fun. We are so grateful to one of our star students for capturing these events of the day. Class was moved into the air-conditioning, so it was cozy but no one seemed to mind. Everyone made a beautiful bouquet to take to a friend, got a birthday buddy and got in touch with their inner pigeon. Thanks to everyone who stayed after school to help clean up. The janitor seems to be on vacation. Hopefully someone got pictures of the granny pants game.

Hello and welcome to all our new followers. I’m Mary. My husband, Brian and I married in 1993. We began building this farm in 1999, with a 2 year old boy & one on the way. Those babies are now the age we were back then. I Homeschooled them both all the way through while running multiple restaurants and a catering business.

After 33 years of building the dream, we are relishing time to live the dream. I’m recently so grateful for newly restored health & spirit. Now this farm and about 50 animals get all my extra attention.

Over the years I have mentored many homeschool teens. And our own sons greatly benefited from the mentorship of many caring professionals. Do you know of a homeschool teen who might be looking for opportunities to help us host farm to table events?
As a retired homeschool Mom and Food service professional, I love to offer paying positions to local students I’ve built rapport with as volunteers. You learn so much about their work ethic when they want to do a job.

If your teen thinks this would be fun, I’d love to meet them. They will even get to wear these snazzy aprons left over from my Bolivar restaurant in 2005. Please share with the parents of a teen homeschooler you admire & who’s considering the hospitality field. We’ve hosted multiple local agritourism events at our farm each year since 2008.
