An anonymous woman just paid for every police officer’s coffee at our cafe for the entire month of October.

Any officer who walks in gets a cup. Cappuccino, latte, iced mocha, whatever they want. On the house.

When we asked her why, she pointed up to heaven.

It started last week. She ordered an iced mocha. When we handed it to her, there was a note written on the lid:
“Know that you are Special!”

She told us it came on a day she really needed it. She enjoyed that coffee. The warmth. The feeling of being home.
And she wanted every officer who keeps us safe to have that same experience.

So she came back. And she made this contribution.

She asked to stay anonymous. She didn’t want the credit. She wanted the officers to feel it.

This is what community looks like. Not loud. Not performative. Just one person, one note, one cup of coffee at a time.

Today is International Coffee Day. We’re carrying the celebration into Saturday with a thank-you to the people who grow our coffee.

We watched this one a few times.
Not for what he said, but for the look on his face while he said it.

You cannot manufacture that. You can only try to earn it, one day at a time.
That is the whole job.

We could tell you our crepes are good.
Everybody says that about their own food.

So we will let our guest tell you instead. She ordered a strawberry Nutella crepe and a vanilla caramel latte. Sound on.
