There are times in life when it feels like a puzzle spread out all over the table. You have the pieces, but you don’t know exactly how they fit yet. You try this here, and that there, and it’s chaotic. Then you build out the border, and you have a frame. As you slowly take the time to assess and strategize, it all comes together piece by piece.

My problem is: I want results immediately, and I want to run through walls. And I get frustrated when I don’t see the impact right away 😂 I have had to learn to be more patient, and to let things develop. To make space in my mind for new things.

That’s seemingly impossible as a person in survival mode all the time. Worrying about what’s going to happen today and tomorrow, not next month or next year. My nervous system has been run down for a long time, and that has a consequence. I’m willing to bet you know exactly how that feels.

I did the hard thing, and I asked for help. And my friend spent hours with me breaking it all down and telling me exactly what to do. And it not only gave me hope, but a completely new direction and purpose. And I’m so thankful to him 🙏 And now I embark on this new journey with you, six years in the making, but always growing and learning and becoming better 🫶

There’s a parade downtown today, and it reminded me of what happened a few years ago right around this time 🫣

We had so much fun making this 😂 Sometimes in life, you just need to take that idea in your brain and stop thinking about if it will work and just do it! We always paralyze ourselves thinking “what if it doesn’t work out?”

But what if it ALL works out? 🫶🙌

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s an opportunity for me to do an inventory on my own mental health and to understand how I can best be in alignment with my needs.

I know a lot of you run a side hustle to help make ends meet, and that grind of two jobs can be devastating. And when the side hustle grows and becomes something real, it’s time to make some tough decisions.

That’s where I’m at, and it’s been taking a toll on my own mental and physical health. So I’m going to do something about it. It’s uncomfortable, a little scary, and it’s transitioning from something stable to something more unknown, but that’s the adventure in life, isn’t it?

I’ve found that if I just detach myself from needing any kind of specific outcome, and I focus on the process and the enjoyment of it, somehow it always all comes together, and it can for you too 🫶

It was my birthday yesterday, and it would have been my dad’s birthday today. We celebrated all of our birthdays together when I was a kid, and he was very much like my twin and the person I wanted to be like. He was my hero.

I think it’s important to remember our lost loved ones on special days and to remember the ways in which they made us laugh and smile. Though it also hurts, it’s a healthy way to process loss and to feel a connection to the one you love, and miss ♥️

Happy birthday dad. You were always a real one 🫶

There have been many lessons over the past six years, but these are the big three:

1. Build systems. They are necessary for day to day stability and long term growth

2. Know your costs. Labor and food costs should be calculated weekly against actual revenue numbers

3. Busy doesn’t mean profitable. Having systems in place and managing your costs yields consistent profitability
