Many of you may remember Captain Sawyer Wales, who grew up around the marina and started working as a deckhand at just 15. After years of hard work, earning his captain’s license, and graduating from Auburn, Sawyer has officially launched his own charter business — Blue’s Charters.
Sawyer is a great friend of Tacky Jack’s Fort Morgan, and we’re proud to see him living his dream out on the water.

Meet the Captain
Blue’s Charters is proudly owned and operated by Captain Sawyer Wales, whose passion for fishing began at 15 years old when he started working as a deckhand. After three years learning the ropes and gaining hands-on experience, he earned his captain’s license and began running trips of his own.
While working summers as both a deckhand and captain, Sawyer pursued his degree at Auburn University. After graduation, he made the decision to turn his passion into a full-time career, setting his sights on the goal of owning his own boat and running his own charter business.
Now, after three successful years as a licensed captain, that dream has become a reality. Captain Sawyer has purchased his own boat and launched Blue’s Charters, bringing years of experience, dedication, and Gulf Coast knowledge to every trip.
