It’s that time of year again. Next week, roads around the Griffith location will close Wednesday 9/2 midday but there’s a parking lot on N Griffith Blvd if you’re a die-hard Griffith Grindhouse fan. Otherwise, come visit the Highland Grindhouse and enjoy some peace & quiet.

When it comes to thanking all of those who helped us navigating yet another Unprecedented Event this past week, we saved the best for last: The Space Cadettes.

We’re not exaggerating when we say we wouldn’t have been able to reopen as quickly and fully as we had without these three gals holding it down in our production kitchen. Especially the pastry wizard herself, Traci.

Quite literally fitting in two weeks worth of work in one, they had to remake almost every item on our menu…from scratch…for all three cafes. It makes our bodies sore just thinking about it.

And even outside of this past week, they work tirelessly behind the scenes on the regular so we can continue to serve you the fresh hand-crafted sandos and sweets you love.

This week was probably the hardest on them and, aside from celebrating with some much-deserved half-priced margs like they did today (pictured above), we know they’d appreciate hearing some love from y’all.

After such a wild couple weeks we’d like to make an official statement (as much as a post on social media can be ‘official’) and say none of the three Grindhouse locations are closing anytime soon. Sorry to all the haters.

thanks again to the kind person who paid it forward for some of our customers yesterday. it really made a difference for many folks, especially those still without power and looking for a sense of normalcy in a cup of coffee and a pastry or two.

Y’all we have been so, so grateful for your support this past week as the cafes have slowly reopened, gotten the menu back to normal, and tried to keep up with a wild level of foot traffic.

And watching the Whiting and Griffith Grindhouses continue to fill up every day and have all the chaotic fun has those of us in Highland feeling a little left out, kinda like Merry & Pippin. Come hang with us! We have so much more space than the other two! We have lots of outlets! We have AC! We have pints! Er, wait no, sorry. We have 16 oz lattes!

We know the baristas in Whiting and Griffith would much appreciate the leveling out. 🙏🏼
