💔 RIP DOLLY PARTON — 1946–2026 💔

The world has lost an absolute icon.

Dolly Parton has passed away at the age of 80, leaving behind an incredible legacy spanning more than six decades. From Jolene and 9 to 5 to I Will Always Love You, her songs became part of the soundtrack to millions of lives. (AP News)

But Dolly was so much more than country music. She was a songwriter, actress, businesswoman and extraordinary philanthropist whose Imagination Library helped put books into the hands of children around the world. (AP News)

One of those rare stars who seemed to be loved by absolutely everyone.

Thank you for the music, the laughter and the memories, Dolly. ❤️

Such a sad day with the passing of Dolly Parton, a true legend. She was one of the most talented, kind and giving artist in my lifetime. She was an angel. She left us with many memories of her songs and philanthropic contributions for many years to come. Rest in peace, Dolly. You will live in our hearts forever!

Irish Music Magazine are saddened to hear the passing of Dolly Parton, a true legend of Country Music whose songs and spirit touched generations.

Dolly had a deep affection for Ireland and its traditional music, recognising the shared storytelling and musical roots of Ireland and her native East Tennessee.

We include a treasured memory with Dolly and Irish group Altan performing the beautiful traditional folk song “Barbara Allen”, which featured on Heartsongs: Live from Home album (released 1994). Watch on YouTube:
