Persimmon Country Club
The golf course you see today was formerly a farm owned by the Shiiki family. The surrounding forest and hills with majestic views made it a perfect spot for a premiere golf course. Persimmon Country Club opened all 18 holes and its beautiful Clubhouse on May 4, 1994 first as a semi-private club. A short three years later a swim and tennis center and event center had been a
dded to its list of amenities. In 2018, the course was then picked up by Persimmon Recreation, LLC, and was headed up by the former pro at Salishan, Mark Swift. Persimmon Partners, LLC, lead by Sean Robbins and Jeff Newville, purchased the course the late fall, early winter of 2019. Persimmon Partners, LLC, has since taken over the course and been busy making necessary improvements to make Persimmon even better than it was before. Persimmon Country Club is a prestigious, private, 18-hole course to the east of Portland in the forested hills above Gresham. The course is well manicured with well-kept fairways and good greens. Persimmon Country Club has gorgeous views of Mt. Adams, and down the Gorge. Many traps (most green side), several wetlands, and trees come into play. Elevation changes (mostly on the back nine) also provide challenges, particularly sharp drop-offs from undulating greens. Forward tees provide benefit of shorter distances and better angles. The course is hilly, and variable distances between holes; a cart is recommended. It is a very attractive and impressive course that is well maintained, with a very friendly and accommodating staff. For the quality of the course and related facilities (including a restaurant, pool, and tennis courts), its membership opportunities are one of the best deals in the metro area.
