Delta Sun & Brisket is a Mississippi singer-songwriter duo featuring Mike “Delta Sun” Slaton and Chris “Brisket” Livingston.
Hailing from the Mississippi Delta—the birthplace of American music—they have performed for audiences across the Southeastern United States for over 25 years. Their sets blend original songs with covers, drawing inspiration from artists such as John Prine, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Tom Petty, the Grateful Dead, and Widespread Panic. They currently focus on acoustic shows at local venues around the Mississippi Delta and perform with the Water Valley, MS band Pharmtruck.
They have lived in Nashville and North Carolina before returning to the Delta, and have opened for acts including the Avett Brothers, Lucero, Chatham County Line, Col. Bruce Hampton, Cary Hudson, T-Model Ford, and Afroman.
The duo’s sound is rooted in acoustic singer-songwriter and Americana traditions with a strong Mississippi Delta character.
