We need your help, your love, and your support. This is an incredibly difficult post to share, but not near as difficult as the fight ahead for one of our own—WILSON CURILLO, one of our head servers for the past 17yrs at The Ginger Man was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 stomach cancer…. at 43 yrs old. Many of you in our community know Wilson personally or have had the pleasure of him serving you at dinner or ensuring your private party upstairs ran ultra smooth—just like his personality, he’a an ultra smooth, super hospitable dude. For 17yrs he’s been one of the kindest, most hard working, and ultra gracious humans in the building and on the planet. Just like in life, in a restaurant, sh*t goes south every day. Wilson not only handles the stress and the chaos with grace, he is literally the ONLY person in the building who has never complained. Never missed a shift. He covers his friends and co-workers when they need help—no questions asked. I GOT YOU was Wilson’s whole mentality. He’s never once asked for ANYTHING from ANYBODY. Just works his as* off every day. All day. 12hr shifts most days, what we call a “dirty double” in the biz. Meaning lunch and dinner. No break. 11am to 11pm. Nearly 5-6 days a week. For 17yrs. It’s an insane job and an insane schedule and Wilson did it with a smile. I don’t know many people who can say that. Now, HE NEEDS OUR HELP—
🙏
If you’re able to spare a few bucks toward our GoFundMe, it would truly help Wilson, his son, his brother and family who are taking care of him now, while he starts chemo. He will be out of work for a minimum of 3 months. We are all providing weekly donations and groceries to him and his family, but this GoFundMe is for the bigger stuff like the crazy medical expenses, rent, bills and other mandatory life stuff that doesn’t care that you’re sick and out of work. If you’re unable to donate (times are tough for everyone), SHARING THIS POST OR STORY is absolutely helpful.
🙏
Wilson is incredibly strong both mentally and physically and will ABSOLUTELY come out on the other side—he just needs a bit of help right now.
