A new view of an old favorite.

While we were walking the ceremony site during a tour, a bride who happened to be a biologist looked at the willow and told us about the idea of the mother tree: an older tree sharing resources through an underground network, helping to support and nurture the trees nearby. I’ve thought about that ever since.

It feels fitting that so many couples begin their marriages beneath a tree that reminds us how much life depends on connection, community, and caring for one another.

The willow was here long before us. We didn’t design it or try to improve upon it. It simply became the place to gather, so we created a ceremony site beneath its branches.

Before it was the Loft, it was home.

Our A-frame motor lodge was built in 1962, and the second floor originally served as the owner’s quarters, where Walt and Cookie raised their son while running the lodge.

Today, the Loft is our version of a bridal suite and part of a new chapter for the property. We kept the warmth, the character, and some of the wonderful quirks that come with a space that has lived more than one life. Because a room with a story is always more interesting than one created from scratch.

Fall at the Lodge, in no particular order: rust-colored leaves, a vintage dress, a piano in the middle of a field, and all the beautifully unscripted moments in between.

A + I’s intimate wedding weekend felt generous, fun, and completely their own. They brought their favorite people together for a whole weekend away, with plenty of time to settle in, celebrate, and escape into nature for a bit. What could be better?

M & S summer wedding in the Catskills was colorful, relaxed and very much their own. Sculptural flowers in soft chartreuse and pink, a tented dinner in the courtyard under the setting sun, and everyone settling in for a long summer night together.

There was candlelight. There was really good food. There were friends and family everywhere. Nothing too stiff, nothing too precious, just a very good party in a very pretty place with a truly excellent group of people.

C + A’s June wedding weekend was beautiful, relaxed, personal, and deeply unfussy!

The part we love most: bringing everyone together for the whole weekend, feeding them well, giving them somewhere beautiful to land, and letting the rest unfold.
