So far we’ve raised $3,321.90 for veteran meals!

You guys are amazing.

The whole point of this is simply to say thank you. We plan to feed veterans completely free, and we’re hoping to do it for ALL of Veterans Week because not everyone can make it in on Veterans Day.

Being married to a combat veteran, and having been raised in a family of veterans, I thought I understood sacrifice.

It wasn’t really until I was married that I realized how much of that sacrifice we may never actually see.

So let me tell you a story.

When my husband and I were dating, we went to a nice restaurant. It was really busy, so you pretty much took whatever table they offered you.

Jason would always ask me where I wanted to sit, but I started noticing that he seemed to have a preference, and eventually I figured out why.

He always wanted to sit on the perimeter where he could watch the room.

When he was in a war zone, watching the room took on a completely different meaning.

So even though he has been home for a long time, he still quickly scans a room and notices things I completely take for granted. It happens at restaurants, at the mall, on car rides and even at home. He’s just very aware of what is happening around him.

And the interesting part is that this person who is constantly scanning everything around him is also one of the most gentle, caring, loving and nonjudgmental people I know.

One day I was driving and I decided to try something.

I tried to pay attention to every little thing on the side of the road or in the middle of the road and imagine that any one of those things could potentially be an explosive.

I only lasted a few minutes. It was intense, and I remember thinking… I’m exhausted after doing this for a few MINUTES.

He lived it.

And for him, this wasn’t something he could just turn off when he came home. His nervous system had adapted to an environment where being on high alert mattered.

That’s what I mean when I say war changes people. It truly does.

Sometimes the very things that helped keep someone alive over there are still happening in their body years after they come home.

So when we talk about the sacrifices veterans have made, I think sometimes the word “sacrifice” becomes so familiar that we don’t stop and think about what it can actually mean for the person who made it.

That’s part of why this matters so much to us.

We’re at $3,321.90.

That’s $3,321.90 our community has given simply to put a meal in front of a veteran and say:

Thank you.

It’s not about a handout. It’s the least we can do.

When you get an idea to start a business, you might be given the opportunity to actually do it.

And when you start a business in downtown Greenfield, you might discover there are a whole bunch of other people crazy enough to do it too.

And when you meet those people, you might discover the Greenfield Business Association.

And when you discover the Greenfield Business Association, you might meet Hannah.

And when you meet Hannah, you’ll probably notice pretty quickly that she has a way of making you feel excited about this town. She is such a voice of positivity, encouragement and innovation, and she’ll probably convince you to come to an event.

And when you go to an event, you might start talking to other business owners.

And when you start talking to them, you might realize that you’ve walked past some of their businesses a hundred times without really understanding the people behind them, the work they’re doing, or just how much they contribute to Greenfield.

And when you learn their stories, you might start feeling even more connected to the town where you decided to take that crazy chance and open a business.

And then one night, you might find yourself in a room celebrating businesses and organizations nominated for things like The Hive Award, the Bee Innovative Award, the Cross-Pollinator Award and the Positive Buzz Award.

And then, somewhere along the way, those people might be asked to vote.

And you might find out that they voted for you.

And suddenly, you and your husband are standing there holding the 2026 Positive Buzz Award.

And that one hits a sweet spot.

Because it wasn’t about sales or how many people walked through our doors or being “new” in town. It was recognition from other people who are also pouring themselves into this community for doing exactly what we hoped to achieve.

And when you get an idea to start a business, you think you’re opening a restaurant.

But sometimes, you end up finding a community.

And if you find a community…..

you’re probably going to want to pour right back into it. 💗

We have A SURPRISE!

Been busy this weekend with NEW SEATING!!! 😍

We know it could get a little tight in here, especially when we were busy or trying to seat bigger parties. So we made some changes!

It’s now easier to get in, easier to get seated, AND easier for us to seat parties of 4+ thanks to our new booths! Plus we have a side room available as well!

And seriously…. HOW CUTE ARE THESE BOOTHS?!

Little by little it’s all coming together.❤️

New menu coming VERY soon too!!!! It’s about 90% complete but mama needs to get to sleep so hopefully can finish it tomorrow. 👀
