MORE THAN A GAME. 💙❤️ It’s easy to hear people talk about the next generation with a little skepticism. “Kids these days;” You know how it goes...
But when a student body chooses Philip Webb as its Homecoming King, it’s a beautiful reminder that the future is in pretty wonderful hands. ❤️
We had the privilege of sharing Philip’s story a few weeks ago and the special place he holds in the Grapevine High football family. But one moment from our conversation with his mom has stayed with us.
We asked her if she ever worried that Philip might not fit in or find his place at Grapevine High.
The love in her eyes was unmistakable as she told us he’s always been included. She shared story after story about the students, groups and school administrators who look out for Philip and make sure he knows he belongs.
Think about that for a moment. ❤️
A school full of students who see a classmate, embrace him, include him and celebrate him. A community of young people who remind us that kindness, compassion and belonging aren't things of the past. They're alive and well.
And to the parents raising these incredible kids? You deserve a little recognition, too.
And a fun sidenote: we have it on good authority Philip didn’t just win by a little. It was overwhelming. And the other boys on the homecoming court? If they were to win, there was a plan to handover their crown.
We had so many wonderful photos from Philip’s journey over the years that we couldn’t fit them all into our original story. Here are a few more that we wanted to share.

We hope they make you smile, warm your heart and remind you why it’s so special to be part of this community.
Congratulations, Philip! You are indeed the secret weapon of Grapevine High...
And thank you, Grapevine High, for reminding us what it looks like when everyone has a place to belong. 💙❤️👑
