Grand Portage is hosting a Tribal Leaders panel about the impact of mining on our water, manoomin, fish, and other Treaty resources throughout the 1854 Territory at 3:00 pm on Wednesday Sept 23, at the casino event center. Grand Portage community members are welcome to attend the event.

Help Shape the Future of Hunting, Fishing, Trapping & Gathering on our Land.

We want to hear from community members about potential updates to Grand Portage’s Conservation Code. Join us for a focus group to share your experiences, perspectives, and priorities related to hunting, fishing, trapping, and gathering.

During the discussion, we’ll talk about what is working well today, what could be improved, and what should be considered as the Conservation Code is updated. Your knowledge and experiences can help ensure future policies reflect the needs, values, traditions, and priorities of the community.

Participants will get a $50 gift card to the Trading Post.

Sunday, Sept. 20 : Hunters, fishers, trappers, and gatherers
Monday, Sept. 21 @ 5pm: Tribal descendants

Groups will take place at the Old Log School Building in Grand Portage
