CM Gridiron | Game of the Week | Week 6 | #1 Plainview Bears vs #2 Geraldine Bulldogs

Presented By: JAMES BAR B Q And Catering and Little James BBQ And Catering

This game has been highly anticipated all season, and this week, it is finally here!

Class 3A has been making plenty of noise in DeKalb County this year, and on Thursday night, October 1st, the #1 and #2 teams in the state will meet at Coolidge Isbell Field.

Coach Michael Davis’ #2 Geraldine Bulldogs will host Coach Dale Pruitt’s #1 Plainview Bears in a matchup that has all the makings of one of the biggest high school football crowds DeKalb County has seen.

And there’s history being made here.

This will be the first time DeKalb County has had the #1 and #2 teams in the same county, the same classification, and the same region meet during the regular season.

Both of these programs have experienced plenty of success in recent years, and now they get the opportunity to settle things on the field.

Plainview holds the all-time series advantage over Geraldine at 27-20-2, but the Bulldogs have won four of the last five meetings. The last matchup came in 2023, when Geraldine defeated the Bears 35-3.

Now, they meet again with both teams sitting at the top of Class 3A.

In CM Gridiron’s opinion, this is Round One between these two programs. We don’t believe this will be the last time we see Plainview and Geraldine play each other this season.

We feel 3A North runs through these two schools, and there is a very good chance we could see them meet again when the playoffs arrive.

But before we start talking about a potential playoff rematch, there is a huge game to be played Thursday night.

#1 Plainview.

#2 Geraldine.

Same county. Same classification. Same region.

One field.

One huge Thursday night matchup.

We want your feedback on how you think this game will go! And you don’t have to be from Plainview or Geraldine to weigh in. We know just about everyone has an opinion on this one, so let’s hear it!

Comment your game winner prediction along with your final score prediction.

If anyone gets the correct final score, he or she will win a CM Gridiron hat!

Can’t make it to the game? Come to CM Gridiron Thursday night! We’ll be there following this huge matchup and will have live scores added to our score update post as they happen, so you can keep up with the action throughout the night.

Good luck to Coach Dale Pruitt and the #1 Plainview Bears and Coach Michael Davis and the #2 Geraldine Bulldogs!

This one should be a special night at Coolidge Isbell Field!
