Say hello to the newest addition to our Grand Cru series: Golden Strong! This deceptively strong pale ale was developed in the early 1920's as Belgian brewers wanted to create a flavorful recipe to compete with the rising popularity of pale lagers and pilsners in Germany. Today, the iconic Duvel is the most famous representation. (Duvel translates to Devil and you can infer why the name is so apropos!)
Our take on this classic has delicate aromas of pear, apple and herbs, balanced with a subtle, lingering bitterness and a dry, spritzy finish. It is well paired with rich cheeses, creamy sauces, seafood and roasted game. At 8.4%, a devil may not sneak up on you, but perhaps a French Bulldog named Barley or Hops will cause some mischief!
