🍌 TWO LOAVES 🍌

The bananas were just right and my starter needed fed, so I decided to bake with it instead of discarding any!🤪

Both of my kids were waiting by the stove when I took the first loaf out and begging for a slice! They both also asked for a slice for breakfast this morning!🤗 I can’t lie either, I may or may not have already had a couple slices myself!

Tonight, I’ll be baking some plain sandwich bread! 🍞

Just need to toot my own horn for a second bc I didn’t think my starter would take off, then she did. I also didn’t think she’d stay going as good as she did, but here I am with two loaves of banana bread and my starter growing like a weed!🫶🏻🙃

🤗 I’m still here!!! 🤗

For the last two weeks it’s been nothing but sick kids, no school, and no daycare. Tomorrow everyone returns and I cannot wait!

My plan to already have bread by Valentine’s clearly didn’t work, but that’s ok! She’s ready to start this week!

I have been a little MIA the last few days due to being busy and now a sick kiddo! My starter is still going strong tho 🤩

I will update everyone with a picture hopefully tomorrow once my kids are able to return to school/daycare! This sickness is no joke, so keep your families healthy!🫶🏻

💥💥 DAY SEVEN 💥💥

Finally got myself a new jar! I’m not sure I like the textured glass but it’ll work for now🤪 (she’s already rose 2in since I discarded and fed at 12:30🤯)

I cannot believe the rise and how much she’s grown! Seven days in and it’s tripled in size!🤩 I genuinely didn’t think I’d make it this far when making my own starter, but here we are!

One more week, and she’ll be ready to test out!!

DAY 🖐🏻 !!!!

I am shocked 😱 at the fact that I’ve made it this far with this starter! Not because I was planning to fail, but because it’s been so much easier than I’ve read!

It smelt so good this morning! And the bubbles! There were SO many bubbles!🫧 I am getting more and more excited for the final result!🤗 The first two photos were before I discarded some and fed her again! Again, check out those bubbles!! 🫧🫧

💥😱 DAY FOUR 😱💥

In the first picture you can see where she had risen to! 🤩 She is finally starting to get a distinct smell to her and has been having LOTZ of bubbles!🫧

Almost time to get a new jar! Can’t wait to compare all these photos to the final one on 10 more days!🤞🏻

💥Day 3!!💥

Shut the front door!😱🤩

The first photo is before the discard & feed process! I couldn’t believe how bubbly she already is!🫧 The second photo is after the discard & feed process! Now for her to sit for 24hrs! I’m having too much fun seeing the progress each day I walk past the jar!🤗

24 hours later and here we are! Just discarded half and fed her some more flour + water! 6 more days of this and [hopefully] she’ll be active and bubbly! 🫧

💥 Hello friends! It’s been awhile! 💥

A few months ago I decided to take some time off from baking to be more present in my kids lives. I coached 3 soccer teams, potty trained my daughter, and decluttered my kids toy room. In that time, I also got rid of my starter I had in a tantrum of throwing things away one day!🫠 I immediately regretted it, but decided it was almost to that point bc of the neglect it received.

Today I decided to make a new one! Be sure to follow along with my journey over the next 14 days as I do my best to get this starter going!🤞🏻
