It's hard to believe we've been celebrating the magic for 55 years at Magic Kingdom and 44 years at Epcot! My first visit to Walt Disney World was in 1986. My grandparents took me along with my cousins for a Florida vacation that included a visit to the Disney parks. Back then, it was only Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and I can promise you it looked much different than it does today! You never forget your first Disney experience...mine was riding Space Mountain with my grandma, hearing my grandpa laugh at the Tiki Room birds, and dressing in the exact same outfit as my cousin for a week. I've experienced Disney as a child myself, through the eyes of my children as they grew up visiting the parks, and as an adult, and every time I have found something new to appreciate. Nostalgia hits hard for me with Disney. While some of the changes hurt knowing pieces of the parks will never be the same, I'm reminded that Walt Disney never intended them to stay the same forever. Happy Anniversary to Magic Kingdom and Epcot...I look forward to my visit(s)!
