A slice of Asian/Pacific food and culture!

I am so proud to share the delicious flavors of Asia/Pacific, the culture, and the sacred storytelling culture of Polynesian Hula, Tahitian, and Filipino dance!

When I perform hula, I want to represent hula with reverence. 🙏

It shares a deep connection with the land, genealogy, and oral tradition. Because ancient Hawaiians did not have a written language, hula was the vessel used to pass down centuries of genealogies, myths, and historical events. To treat it incorrectly is to erase the lineage of the ancestors.

Thank you for sharing in the learning and appreciation of the food, language, dance, and culture of Asia/Pacific!

QUEEN PINAY FOODS
Why the name? 🤔☺️

QUEEN - I always joke when people ask and say that, “it’s because I’m a beauty queen 💅” 🤣🤣

PINAY - I am a proud Filipina! My family is from Visaya and my mother was born in Manila. It is pronounced “PEE-NYE” not PIH-NAY.

My background:

But actually, the reason why I put ‘Queen’ in my name is because I was an entrepreneur in the Beauty/Fashion Industry for over 15 years, so yes ‘Beauty Queen!’ I’m proud of my work in the industry. My companies have reached many wonderful accomplishments and nearly impossible accolades over the years.

From being published with commercial advertisements internationally with Fortune 500 Companies, to working with Luxury Brands of KERING Company such as Balenciaga, to being invited to the Metropolitan Museum of Art by VOGUE and to headquarters to meet Anna Wintour. An award winning wedding vendor company, a salon and spa that housed an apprenticeship program for students through State Board, a media marketing and production company, and a talent agency that reached Harper’s Bazaar, VOGUE, New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.

I was also very proud to be a business mentor of Haworth College of Business at WMU.

I am not shy to share my background for those who ask! I absolutely love the work that I have done with my companies, but at this point of my life I am excited to have retired to now spend more time with my family.

Time flies too fast. I want to be able to spend as much time with them as possible.

Our family Asian/Pacific Micro Bakery allows me to do so as well as share our culture and recipes with all of you!
