Ray Liotta walked onto Goodfellas as the new guy in a cast filled with actors who had already worked together for years.

Martin Scorsese later said Liotta immediately fit into the film’s heavily improvisational style and made it feel like they had been working together for years.



Henry Hill himself was very real.

Hill spent decades around New York organized crime before eventually becoming an FBI informant and entering the Witness Protection Program.

Basically: Ray Liotta wasn’t playing a fictional gangster.

He was playing the guy who lived long enough to tell the story.
