You’ll usually catch Frank behind the bar shaking up your favorite cocktails and pouring their amazing craft b**rs, while Teffeny’s in the kitchen whipping up your favorite bites from their homemade recipes. 🍔🍹

Their marriage is officially old enough to drink—we’ll cheers to that! 😂🥂

🍺 Hey, Galveston—recognize the talent behind our taps? 👀

Our b**r tap handles at Coastal Star Brewery were crafted by James “Jim” Phillips! Yep, the same artist whose work you’ve probably admired while cruising around the island. 🌴🎨

After Hurricane Ike in 2008, Jim helped turn trees lost to the storm into beloved sculptures—giving a little island history a whole new life. You can spot his Tin Man & Toto at 17th and Winnie, the Geisha at 1717 Ball, and the Dalmatian & Fireplug at 823 25th Street. His wood sculptures are also available at René Wiley Gallery, 2128 Postoffice Street! 🌳💙

At Coastal Star, we’re always looking for ways to keep things hyperlocal, and bringing Jim’s craftsmanship behind our bar is something we’re proud to brag about. Supporting the artists and businesses that give this island its character? We’ll drink to that! 🍻
