What are our baristas drinking?!

LeLe has been with us since the TD days. Her smiles behind the counter and willingness to serve brighten the day.

Shes sipping a Brown Sugar Cinnamon Wired Rabbit with Maple Cinnamon Cold Foam.

Our wired rabbits are: 2,3,5 shots of espresso shaken over ice. You can ask your barista their fave or customize the way you want -with our syrups or cold foam choices!

Stop by say hi and get creative!

Artist Highlight
Angela befriended our family a little bit after we started Trolley Depot Coffee and Tea. Not only have two of her daughters worked with us, but she has grown into an invaluable resource as we’ve built the brand.

Angela has drawn or painted all of our logos, and illustrations for The Wired Rabbit. I remember sitting down with her and expaining the story of ‘The Rabbit’ and describing in detail how I saw him in my head-the only problem is that I (joy) lack any tangible artistic ability. I can think it, but I cannot do it.
Not a week later, she sent me the sketch of the rabbit and I almost cried! It was like meeting an old friend on paper—I then asked her if she could make him “real” and our rabbit portrait was born-she used my son’s pet rabbit as inspiration and wove into our brand a tangible piece of life for us. Then again, she did the sketch of galena shop, and I had an idea for a mural and P**F!!
She did it exactly how my mind saw it, then a sketch of Cuba City and building sign...
There has yet to be an artistic challenge she hasn’t been able to do!
On top of ALL that, Angela has been doing all our photography and now she is content creating & managing all our socials for us!
So shout out to all the creative souls, but especially to Angela-who use their gifts to beautify the world around them!

We turned our attention to creating the spaces for community gathering-our coffee house and our patio.
We even snuck in some staff family dinners!

The spaces previously had been stripped of allinteret and history so we tried to honor the history of the original architecture as we designed these spaces.
We also wanted to weave the heart of our brand into the design.

See our stories for the special contractors that worked on our project. We could not have done it without them!

Our ROASTERY:

Taking the empty space and turning it into a working space took lots of work and many hands!

Our roasting room area got new windows, a bar area & production space.

We designed this space to to eventually double as a classroom/tasting space as well as a functional roastery.

We went from a SF-6 roaster to a SF-35 roaster which enabled us to expand our wholesale business and start doing fundraisers with local schools and clubs.

See our stories all week for more fun pics of the process along the way!

COUNTDOWN!
6 days till our grand opening!

We wanted to share a bit of the restoration process and history of the building.
(See photos!)

•The building was built in 1907 as the Farmer’s State Bank and a post office. It was later changed to Cuba City Bank.

•Throughout its history it has been:
Bank and Post office, Cup and Saucer Cafe, Supper club, once a bar named the Depot (which is why people think it was the train depot but it never was), It was a revolving door of businesses prior to us purchasing such as a yoga studio, reptile store and antique stores.

•When we purchased the building we needed to address structural and safety issues first before we could start in on the coffee shop.

•The unlivable apartments upstairs needed to be remodeled as well as basement supports, new roof + cornice.

Follow along this week as we share bits and pieces of this restoration journey!
